Classical music on its own was not enough, or rather, it was so great that it couldn’t only be kept for a select few, or be closed within the walls of a conservatory, or imprisoned in an exhilarating auditorium.
Angelo Di Guardo and Antonio Macrì, who are both conservatory graduates and have refined themselves alongside distinguished maestros, felt the need to share their music, to try and touch all kinds of audiences with the strings of their violins, with a view to reach universality through beauty and emotions that only the great classics can evoke in our hearts.
For a decade now, they have experimented with a new way of presenting violin music to the general public, enriching their classic style with rhythms and arrangements that know how to be engaging without lacking in purity. They accompany this joy with their bodily expressions, giving themselves fully to the public, wearing jeans so as to match themselves with their music.
Various styles of music can be found in their repertoire (classical, pop, folk, gypsy blues, etc.). After the sales success of their first CD “Sviolinando”, which was reprinted 3 times, they introduced their new album “Le Otto Stagioni” with whom they have built a long and extraordinary tour that has recently touched the Teatro Metropolitan Catania then continue with a concert in Dubai New Year’s Eve 2014 and follow the Teatro Parioli with great guests and an extraordinary national media feedback. Their concerts are a real emotional journey which occasionally involve other artists, musicians, dancers. The violinists in jeans have even dabbled with fireworks performances played to the rhythm of the violin, a splendid play of colour and light which, combined with musical notes, creates a unique atmosphere.
